4 Fantastic Fashion Tips for Festivaling

The weather report for Enchanted Forest is breezy and bright, which is great for those of us who enjoy having fun in the sun. It’ll be hot in the daytime so get ready to don your flowiest fabrics and latest festival fashions. So what’s the best way to flaunt your swag in the forest and save enough energy for the dance-travaganza of the night? Don’t worry friends, there are more than enough ways to look and stay cool while frolicking amongst these trees. Check out these tips!

  Less is More

The most obvious solution to keeping your chill game steady while looking good is to wear as little as possible. But how do you get noticed amongst a crowd of bare skin and hip belts? Lucky for you I’ve got a few suggestions to get your fashion fires sparked up. Get some body paint and turn yourself into a walking, talking art piece! Wear all the colors of the rainbow, just in tiny pieces of fabric. This is a summer of color so don’t be afraid to experiment with something bright!

Sparkle. Ink.

Another  huge hit this year, have been the metallic tattoos you can buy just about anywhere. You know the ones – they turn you into a golden god or goddess with just a couple passes of a wet washcloth. Less is definitely more when dealing with the heat but with a little ingenuity and a bit of time to self-decorate you’ll find that the muralists and musicians aren’t the only ones making art around here.

Summer Styles

The summer festivals have seen a lot of lovely lace this year. Funky steampunk outfits and sacred geometry are also popular. There are all sorts of delicate patterns to wear in the form of long maxi dresses, big bell-bottoms and my favorite BITTY BOOTY SHORTS. Keep an eye out for the best festival fashions to build a style that’s truly you. Some just toss an article over their favorite swimsuit or join the #FreetheNipple movement and go without! Whatever you do make sure the first layer you put on is a good sunblock or else you’ll end up with some decorative tan lines. Then again, those can be pretty dashing as well.

OH the Hats

Hats, hats, hats!!! Not only are they my favorite accessory but they are also integral for keeping the sun off your face. My motto is “the bigger the brim…. The better!”. Get something outrageously large that will shelter your shoulders from the sun too. Thrift stores are a great place to find older pieces that are begging for adornment. Grab yourself a $2 cowboy hat and a glue gun. Just remember when decorating your new find to use pieces that won’t easily fall off. The forest is naturally beautiful so we want to keep it that way and you don’t want to spend time picking up pieces that won’t survive your transcendental shuffles on the dancefloor. In other words, while your new top hat will without question look boss with some bedazzling gems around the edge, the wild trees of Black Oak Ranch don’t really need the help.

The most important thing to remember when getting your looks together for a festival is to just be yourself. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and walk tall in your choice. Throw on those gold pasties, that lace over shirt or thai harem pants. So long as you’re not shirt-cocking I say just be happy in your skin and do you.

Fashion, for me, is but a lens for our inner light to shine through so bust out those festive threads, get out there and make the world a little brighter.
